

The Unseemly House was put on the couch this past Friday. Our therapist was the very cool and calming Wendy Umanoff (pictured), a local home and retail stylist with whom I’ve had the pleasure of working and being neighbors with.
Now that that the crazy run-up to the holidays was over, it was time to step back and decide how my husband, Andrew, and I use our rooms. It was also time for me to stop “filling” our house fast so it looked warm and cozy quickly for our guests.
I hired Wendy to work with me every two weeks to space-plan, offer color suggestions and to EDIT since I love lots of color, fabrics, salvage items — I’m just all over the place with my likes.

It was a mad dash to the Dec. 26 arrival of guests, but southbound traffic on I-95 worked to my advantage and bought me a couple more hours. I was able to catch a quick shower before I opened the door and transformed from sleep-deprived lunatic into gracious hostess.
